Der Theaterregisseur und Leiter der Physical Theatre Company Side Effect, Danilo Jovanović, gibt in diesem Training für Theatermachende und Akteur*innen der Kulturproduktion einen Einblick in seine Arbeitsweise und die Open Soul Method.
In der Open Soul Method steht eher das Geschichtenerzählen und Performen und weniger das Schauspielen im Vordergrund. Im Mittelpunkt der Methode steht die Idee, dass die Bühne allen gehört. Ziel ist es, die persönlichen Geschichten, Erfahrungen und Emotionen der Menschen in Bewegung und spoken word zu übersetzen. Diese Methode nimmt persönliche Geschichten, Erfahrungen und Erinnerungen der Trainingsteilnehmer_innen als Ausgangspunkt der kreativen Erforschung.
Im Training zeigt Jovanović seine Zugänge zu Selbstrepräsentation, Barrierearmut/-freiheit und Diversität in der Kunst und im Theater. Das Training umfasst eine Serie von Übungen und Aufgaben, bei denen die Teilnehmer*innen diese theoretischen Aspekte durch Gruppenarbeiten und „auf der Bühne“ erforschen.
Nach dem Training wird es ein gemeinsames Abendessen geben. Bitte geben Sie bei der Anmeldung bekannt, ob sie am Abendessen teilnehmen werden.
Das Training findet auf Englisch statt.

Danilo Jovanović ist Physical Theater Regisseur aus Ex-Jugoslawien und künstlerischer Leiter der Physical Theater Company Side Effect. Seit 2019 lebt und arbeitet er in Wien. Seine künstlerische Produktion verbindet Bewegung mit Geschichtenerzählen und er liebt den theatralen Prozess und die ständige Suche nach neuen Wegen, Geschichten zu erzählen. Das Leben selbst in eine theatrale Sprache zu übersetzen, ist für Danilo das Spannendste. Er sieht das Theater als einen Ort kollektiven Handelns und eine Plattform für den Austausch von Wissen und Erfahrung, insbesondere für diejenigen, die weniger Zugang zu Ressourcen haben. Die Vision einer Bühne als offener Erfahrungsraum in Form seines Open-Soul-Konzepts steht im Mittelpunkt von Danilos Arbeit. 2020 bekam er das Kultur-Gemma-Stipendium in Wien. Neben seiner Regietätigkeit ist er auch als Theaterpädagoge und Trainer zu verschiedenen Themen tätig.

The Open Soul Method emphasises storytelling and performing rather than acting. At the centre of the method is the idea that the stage belongs to everyone. The aim is to translate people's personal stories, experiences and emotions into movement and spoken word. This method takes the personal stories, experiences and memories of the training participants as the starting point for creative exploration.
In the training, Jovanović demonstrates his approaches to self-representation, low/no barriers and diversity in art and theatre.
The training includes a series of exercises and tasks in which participants explore these theoretical aspects through group work and "on stage". The participants will experiment with different forms of storytelling. Storytelling is used as part of the methodological concept, whereby the perspective "not a single story" is important.
After the training there will be a dinner together. Please let us know when you register whether you will be attending the dinner.

Danilo Jovanović is a physical theatre director from ex-Yugoslavia and artistic director of the physical theatre company Side Effect. He has lived and worked in Vienna since 2019. His artistic production combines movement with storytelling and he loves the theatrical process and the constant search for new ways to tell stories. Translating life itself into a theatrical language is the most exciting thing for Danilo. He sees theatre as a place of collective action and a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, especially for those who have less access to resources. The vision of a stage as an open space for experience in the form of his Open Soul concept is at the centre of Danilo's work. In 2020, he was awarded the Kultur Gemma scholarship in Vienna. In addition to his directing work, he also works as a theatre educator and trainer on various topics.
