Re-Frame: Debut Film Festival Vienna

Re-Frame Debut Film Festival Vienna is devoted to showing debut short films by up-and-coming FLINTA* filmmakers, and is organized by (ex)-volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps program at Stand129. The festival concentrates on low-budget independent projects (movies with a budget of under EUR 7,500) in order to offer a stage for creative experimentation and non-traditional narrative techniques.

On its first edition in 2023, the festival received more than 2500 submissions from all over the world, out of which we chose 13 remarkable films to show at Stand129. Several directors attended the festival and could discuss the themes of their movies and filmmaking processes in their countries.

For the second edition, the festival will not only expand internationally, but also will offer a bigger screening programme at Stand129. 

The open-call for film submissions is online and will last until 1st of May 2024. 

Das Re-Frame Debut Film Festival Vienna präsentiert Kurzfilmdebüts von FLINTA* Nachwuchsfilmschaffende und wird von (ehemaligen) Freiwilligen des Europäischen Solidaritätskorps am Stand129 organisiert. Das Festival konzentriert sich auf unabhängige Low-Budget-Projekte (Filme mit einem Budget von unter 7.500 Euro), um Räume für kreative Experimente und nicht-traditionelle Erzählweisen zu schaffen.

Im ersten Jahr 2023 erhielt das Festival mehr als 2500 Einreichungen aus der ganzen Welt, aus denen 13 bemerkenswerte Filme ausgewählt wurden, die am Stand129 gezeigt wurden. Mehrere Regisseur*innen, nahmen am Festival teil und konnten über die Themen ihrer Filme und den Prozess des Filmemachens in ihren Ländern erzählen.

Für die zweite Ausgabe wird das Festival international erweitern und weitere Vorführungen sind am Stand 129 geplant. Der Open-Call für Filmeinreichungen ist online und läuft bis zum 1. Mai 2024.

Das Festival ist ein Projekt vom Stand 129, initiiert und kuriert von Freiwilligen des Programms Europäisches Solidaritätskorps.
